After an epic 24-hour-long day of travel that took me from drizzly Scotland to sunny southern California, I have enjoyed a whirlwind weekend of teaching and touristing in LA.
The lovely shop Wildfiber in Santa Monica was a fabulous host, and so many friendly and talented knitters came out to take classes on the Pop and Vivid Blankets, or try their hand at design in the exciting DIY (Design it yourself) hat workshop [more on that coming soon…!].
When travelling, encountering the unexpected is part of the excitement of the journey. Well… I let’s just say I didn’t expect to leave my DSLR camera in the car when my husband John dropped me off at the airport (his goodbye kisses distracted me!). So instead of my obsessive clicking and satisfyingly high-quality images, you get little low-res snaps from my bargain basement smartphone… I guess I will just have to ensure that content makes up for the lack of image quality!
If you are already follow us on Instagram (tincanknits), then you will already have seen some of these.
And after a stay in Santa Monica that was FAR too brief, I am headed northward on the train to my next stop: Pacific Grove.
The tour has been SO amazing so far! Am I coming to your area? I’ll be in San Jose, San Francisco, Oakland, and then I’m back on Amtrack to Salem Oregon, Portland, Seattle, and then make an extended stop in Vancouver! I hope to meet you along the way! The full details of all my tour dates are here.
