Our new collection, Lazy Sunday, is all about the simple pleasures found in the slow and comforting rhythms of craft. In designing these patterns, we focused on our love of the outdoors, the joys of taking time to create, and the timeless quality of cables. We hope you enjoy knitting these designs as much as we enjoyed creating them!

To highlight the intricate beauty of cables, we photographed our designs in black and white. Colour can be a cacophony. It heightens the emotional volume of a picture. It floods us with all the feelings and moods we associate with style, people, place, culture, and our own personal stories. We really, really love colour! But for these slow and sumptuous cables, we wanted to turn down the volume, to focus on the way light falls across knitted fabric.

Just as there is a rhythm to the world, there is a similar comforting rhythm to practicing a craft…a quiet satisfaction as you complete a project and begin the next – soft unspoken things that your hands have learned from the last piece you made, and the promise of the things they will learn with the next.
We hope this collection invites you to slow down and find that comforting rhythm – something that can seem challenging within our hectic lives. Perhaps as the yarn runs through your hands, and as one stitch becomes many, you’ll find a little more calm happiness in the soft, quiet hours of your own lazy Sunday.

Just gorgeous. And I agree: black and white really focuses the eye on the texture.
(I also love black and white for portrait photos)
