The magical cast-on, created by Judy Becker, and often called ‘Judy’s Magical Cast-on’, creates a seamless bit of cast-on which can then be worked in the round.
An i-cord is just a little tube of knitting. It is a great way to make tie for any knit item that might require it. You can use this technique to connect up your mittens so they don’t get lost, create ties for the Cable Me Softly booties to keep them on the wiggly baby feet, or make the ties for the Beloved Bonnet.
Want to make some important decisions later? Try a provisional cast on for a little added flexibility.
There are LOTS of ways to work a provisional cast on, I find this method a little less fussy than the crochet chain method, although both work just fine.
