Cushy Cables with a Ginger Twist!

Are you ready for the weather to turn? I love the changing of the seasons – the cool, crisp days returning this time of year. The chill in the air calls for a cozy knit, and nothing is better for autumn than cables. Our Nest pullover is a favourite, so we used the same bold pattern on a cowl!

While the weather may be turning chilly, this hot little cowl will slip right off your needles, and it’ll be the PERFECT gift to yourself – or to anyone you love.

Yarns from my favourite Ginger Twist

After a year of adjustment, I feel pretty comfy about life in Canada now, but there are still a few things I really miss from Edinburgh — especially my old LYS! I could saunter round the corner, grab a coffee, and catch up with my friend Jess at Ginger Twist Studio. I loved to immerse myself in her stylish and colourful world.

You’re sure to find the perfect yarn at Ginger Twist Studio for our new Nest cowl. It’s designed for three yarn weights (DK, worsted/aran, and chunky) in three sizes (toddler, child, and adult), so you can choose your favourite yarn and knit up a few for all your favourite people!

For the Nest cowl I knit Max’s cowl in Ginger Twist Studio’s Hand Dyed Masham Mayhem Aran in Poison Apple. Neve’s cowl is made in one of my favourite Ginger Twist colourways, Crunchy Leaves, in Masham Mayhem DK. Doesn’t that golden cowl just glow?

Reversible cables? What is this magic? magic🦄💫

We’ve got a fabulous tutorial that explains the magic of reversible cables (which all these designs share). We’ll teach you how to work them – or just hold your hand along the way!

More delicious cables?

If you love the Nest cable (and honestly, I’m certain you will!), you can also venture forth and knit the Nest Sweater or the Peregrine Shawl. Both feature my favourite reversible cable!
