fabric lampshade

My husband and I have just recently moved into our first ‘permanent’ apartment together (ie. we don’t have plans to move out in the next 4-6 months!). I’ve been waiting for this moment for SO SO long, as during my university years, I moved a total of like 21 times in 8 years; usually from one side of the continent to the other. I lived in a total of 14 different apartments during that time. Let’s just say I am REALLY tired of moving, and I’ve been waiting for the moment that I would be able to ‘furnish’ for a long time now. This is one of my first creations for the new place; a lamp which I put together from home depot parts, and a lampshade which I sewed. I bought the fabric for myself as a gift when I went back to Ontario for my thesis defence. It’s exciting it’s finally being put to use. I think I have enough left for a skirt too!

Ooh, I LOVE this! I have been on the hunt for lamps lately (a secret obsession, I think?) as I too am attempting to nest, but haven’t found too many that a)I like b)that are cheap enough for me to buy lots.

Im going to make my own now!
