Bon Bon Delight

On the ninth day of Christmas, Tin Can Knits gave to me…

a bon bon delight,

boot topping beauties,
gartery goodness,
twist stitch tam,

booties warm and wee!

hip slouchy hat,
honey flavoured mitts,
sea inspired socks,
and cabled mittens for under the tree!

There is something sweet about a wrapped up candy. This year I studied up and learned to make proper caramels. Hunter and I wrap each one with love, twisting the ends just like they do at the bakery. Those iconic twisted ends were exactly the inspiration for the Bon Bon Toque! I wanted the beginning and end to be twisted up, and the knitting equivalent is cables.

There are still a few knitting days left until Christmas, so pick up the Bon Bon Toque pattern and cast on right away!

Thank you so much for this pattern! Many years later, I’m finally knitting it, and it’s beautiful. For the lady slouch, part way through the directions it says to work the middle rounds until the piece measures 5 (6, 6.5, 6, 6.5)” from cast on. Is there a typo, and is it supposed to be 7 and 7.5″ for the largest two sizes? I was trying to add up the other pieces to see how it would work, and am presumably just missing something!

Thank you for your generosity. I’ve discovered some awesome patterns here that I might not have otherwise encountered. A Hipster beanie and the Antler mittens are already wrapped and under the tree.
