On the eighth day of Christmas, TCK gave to me…

some boot topping beauties,
gartery goodness,
twist stitch tam,
booties warm and wee!
hip slouchy hat,
honey flavoured mitts,
sea inspired socks,
and cabled mittens for under the tree!
sweet little gifts
Last year I decided I wanted knit something for the lovely ladies at Hunter’s pre-school. They work so hard and take such good care of her, it had to be something just right! They are all young and well dressed (how they manage that with 3 and 4 year olds surrounding them I will never know!) and while they have work shoes for standing all day in the classroom, I know they are all fans of the tall black boot. So what better to gift them but some cabled boot toppers?
Paved Project Details
Pattern: Paved
Yarn: 180 (200, 220, 240) yards worsted / aran weight yarn (shown in Sweet Fiber Cashmerino Worsted in ‘marshland’ and ‘evergrey’)
Needles: US #6 / 4mm and US #8 / 5mm 16” circulars (or as required to meet gauge)
There are many things I like about this design, but my very favourite is that the cables are set against a garter background, rather than reverse stockinette. It is a subtle difference in appearance but it makes the knitting that much faster!
Which fashion forward person on your list will you be knitting these lovelies up for?

I adore your patterns and enjoy the blog. I have just discovered I have to read the blog each day for the free pattern. I thought it would come to my box. Live and learn. Nevertheless I’m still a happy tincanknits fan. All the best, Tatem2
