Alexa has conquered cables yet again with the lovely Sea Wall socks. But cables aside, the detail I love most from these socks is the crisp architectural quality of the twisted rib at the cuff and heels.
The Sea Wall socks are knit in Sweet Fiber Cashmerino Sock in ‘tea leaves’, a delicate colourway that brings to mind translucent seaweed swaying gently in shallow teal waters.
Tea leaves is clearly one of Alexa’s favourite Sweet Fiber colourways; she also used it for Malt, the free baby blanket pattern from The Simple Collection! This earthy and complex colourway has subtle variegation which doesn’t overwhelm a pattern stitch.

Sea Wall Socks Project Details
pattern: Sea Wall Socks
sizing: adult small (medium, large)
yarn: 350 (370, 400) yds sock / fingering weight yarn (sample shown in Sweet Fiber Cashmerino Sock in ‘tea leaves’)
needles: US #1 / 2.25mm & US #2 / 2.75mm (or as required to meet gauge)
gauge: 28 sts & 40 rounds / 4” in stockinette on larger needles
notions: stitch markers, darning needle
If you love the cables on these socks, we’ve also designed a cowl that features the same pattern: Lions Gate from our second book, Pacific Knits. The cable itself was inspired by the structure of the Lion’s Gate bridge in Stanley Park in Vancouver, where both designs were photographed. If you have visited this beautiful park, you may recognize the iconic bridge and beautiful landscapes.
Socks on sand… cue eye roll!
We often photograph our knits at the beach, as it’s a beautiful spot with good light, great neutrally backgrounds and atmosphere… but really!? Socks on sand! Yup. This is not the first or the last time that you will see this from TCK, and while you may be sniggering and rolling your eyes, we’re not apologizing!
