All Together Now

I love a good Christmas card photo. Perusing old photos I find that they are some of my favourites. Sure, the kids are all wearing amazing coordinated sweaters that were knit by me, or my knitterly sisters-in-law, but that’s not the best part. The thing I love the most is that these cousins are able to to spend their childhoods together; adventuring, playing, and growing up together.

Seeing them all together is always a bit of a Charlie Brown moment for me. I spend lots of December baking up a storm, knitting endless stitches, decorating, cleaning, shopping, worrying…well you get the picture. But over the winter break these kids will be playing games, eating communal meals, sledding, hiking, singing, laughing, fighting, watching movies, and generally being together. It’s magic. 

So cheers to you and yours this season. Emily and I are both wishing you the very best and we hope you enjoy a bit of togetherness, in whatever form that takes for you.
