Too Much
Sometimes I am too much. I am a person filled with big ideas, and rarely the sense to assess the time reality of them. This year my plan to *not* to knit sweaters for a Christmas photo kinda failed.

There is something about September and the changing leaves that makes me want to cast on HATS. I mean, not just 1, not 2, but whole families of hats!
Inspired this year’s theme ‘Learn Something New’, we are running the #TCKnewtricksKAL right now in our Ravelry Group. I am excited to announce the KAL prizes today!
Gather is one of my go-to favourites for gift knitting! It works for guys or girls or the little ones, and I love smocking.
For an epic start to 2015, Alexa and I packed up our families and headed to Tofino, on the west coast of Vancouver Island.
The Gather pattern has instructions for both a hat and cowl featuring my new favourite technique: smocking. It looks a little bit like a cable, but it is easier to work and very stretchy – perfect for a hat. This design really shines in subtle semi-solids and in wilder variegated colourways.
