Here’s a simple, sparkly stash-buster to help you with spring cleaning – the Snap hat!
Maybe you don’t have an issue with stash. Maybe you’re one of those restrained, organized, and careful crafters who doesn’t get overexcited at knitting shops or shows and collect single skeins that you don’t have specific plans for.
But maybe, just maybe, you’re a prolific knitter, or an avid yarn collector, and you love to keep all of your odds and ends ‘just in case’ they might come in handy one day. Well, gather up those lonely singles and bits and bobs, we’ve got a pattern for you!

It’s quick!
Because the Snap hat is made at a chunky gauge, it knits up REALLY QUICKLY. There aren’t many stitches in a round, and there aren’t many rounds to knit before you’re decreasing for the crown!
It’s simple!
There’s nothing to fear here; just knits, purls, and k2togs to decrease at the crown. After you knit the Snap hat, you turn it inside-out for that lovely purl-side texture! The trickiest (and most fun) bit? Choosing the scraps of colour to marl together!
It’s well loved!
This sparkly, satisfying, colourful project is well loved by the knitters, and by the wearers! Include pops of bright colour to make a bold accessory that can brighten up the grey slushy days that many of us are slogging through right now.
Give it a go today!
If you haven’t given this pattern a try, get a copy and cast on today! It won’t be long before you’ve finished a toasty new hat to add to your wardrobe or give as a gift. I’m certain you’ll find the process joyful, swift and satisfying, and the end result a fun work of art.

Cute hat (and modelled so well!). I have a stash to rival any knit shops stockroom. Right now I have no need of a new hat so my stash will just remain to be admired for now
